Welcome to Schwedelbach-Pörrbach, Rhineland-Palatinate

Dear fellow citizens,

As the year slowly draws to a close, we feel it – Christmas is just around the corner. It is a time for reflection, contemplation, and community, which is of particular importance in a community of our size.

With around 1,100 inhabitants, we are not an anonymous place. We know each other; we encounter each other in everyday life, in clubs, on the street, or in the bakery in the morning. This makes our community vibrant and strong. This year in particular has made it clear once again how important cohesion, mutual support, and open communication are.

The past year has been challenging for all of us – each and every one of us in very different ways. Some had to struggle with worries, while others were able to experience beautiful moments.

My thanks go to everyone who volunteers – in clubs, in the fire department of our municipality, in church communities, in social services, or quietly behind the scenes. Their commitment is the heart of our village life. I also thank the municipal council, the two deputy mayors, the municipal employees, the staff of our daycare center, and everyone who contributes to the well-being of our community with their ideas, energy, and patience.

Thanks also to all clubs, party members and citizens for their support in the successful community events in 2025.

Here at the senior citizens' afternoon, at the village festival, at the stork walk to Noten, at the fair, on St. Nicholas' Eve and at the "booth by the tree".

Christmas reminds us of what truly matters: humanity, charity, and hope. Perhaps it is easier to live these values in our close-knit community – through a listening ear, a helping hand, or a kind word.

I hope that we can maintain this spirit of cooperation in the coming year as well. That we tackle problems together, respect differences, and continue working to make our community a vibrant and welcoming place to live.

With this in mind, I wish you and your families a merry, blessed and peaceful Christmas, restful holidays and health and happiness for the new year.

Our local community of Schwedelbach - Pörrbach is located in the heart of the Western Palatinate.
We are ideally located as a starting point for hikes through our beautiful Palatinate Forest, to the Donnersberg mountain, along the Musicians' Trails, the Way of St. James pilgrimage route and much more.

Our residents live in a rural area with excellent infrastructure. Kaiserslautern is only 15 minutes away, as is access to the A6, A63 and A62 motorways.
In our new housing developments, all generations feel at home, and even the youngest children are well cared for with our daycare center and the nearby school centers.
